Seth and Tred cook while Dick and Janice supervise.

On Tuesday evening, March 9, the Emmanuel family was joined by guests from the community for our traditional Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. The Vestry prepared and served pancakes with syrup, fried apples, fresh berries and ham.
Opening our parish hall to new friends and old helped us to “get outside ourselves” on this last evening before Lent. We enjoyed catching up with each other, with many old friends from Chatham, and even some new friends from Dry Fork.
The food, as always, was great! In what may become a new tradition to be more conscious of how we use and conserve God’s bounty, table scraps were collected and sent home with Tred to feed Seth’s hog.
It was a lively evening, full of fun and laughter, reminiscences and talk of plans for the future – including plans for Lenten abstinences and good works.
