This Sunday our worship will include a dedication of the window given in honor of The Rt. Rev. A. Heath Light, Bishop of Southwestern Virginia (retired) by his family. Bishop Light grew up in Chatham and attended Emmanuel. He speaks often of how this church shaped his faith. He will be here, along with some members of his family.
This will be a service of Holy Communion, Rite II.
Due to physical distancing limitations, we are being as creative, yet safe, as we can. The Light family will sit "as a pod" in the chancel, leaving the nave and the north transom area for guests. If needed, there will also be chairs set up in the yard.
As a reminder:
- Masks are still required as we physical distance in church:
- Pews are for the same "pods"
- Two people not in a pod may share a pew, sitting on the ends of a pew
- We use the side aisles to move in and out of the pews.
